Try a craft on a virtual item

The emulator is a page of the Craft Planner. It holds a virtual item. You apply a crafting method by hand, and the item changes as the rules and weights in the Planner say. No currency is spent and nothing is sent to the game.

The Emulator. The item is on the left, the methods are in the middle. The right side shows what one use gives, the history and the cost so far.

What you can apply

You click a method and the item changes. The emulator offers these kinds:

  • Currency
  • Bench crafts
  • Essences
  • Fossils
  • Harvest reforges
  • Beast recipes
  • Influence orbs
  • Veiled orbs
  • Memory strands
  • Locks

The emulator covers gear in Path of Exile 1.

What you see before you click

For a single use of a method the emulator lists the possible outcomes with their chance, most likely first. You see what a use will probably give before you spend on it in the game.

History and cost

The emulator keeps a history with undo and redo. It also counts what the consumables cost so far. For the cost of a whole plan and its spread see What a craft costs.

Same rules as a plan

Design choice: the emulator and the plan builder use the same rules. What you try by hand follows the same model as a generated plan. Every rule carries its source tier, and a plan lists the rules it uses that are not hard game data.
