Craft Helper

The Craft Helper is a Windows desktop program for Path of Exile 1. It walks you through one crafting plan during the real craft. It is a separate program beside the Craft Planner, and it needs a plan file from the Planner.

You do the craft. The Helper keeps the place, the cost and the reasons. It sends nothing to the game.

The Craft Helper is coming soon. It is not released yet. See Download.

A step in the Craft Helper with the tally at the top and one button per outcome

One step in the Helper. The tally is at the top. Each outcome button states what follows and why.

How a session runs

  1. Open a plan file, or drop it on the window. A plan file has the ending .craftplan.json.
  2. The Helper shows one step at a time.
  3. Do the step in the game. Report the outcome with a button or a number key.
  4. The Helper shows the next step and the reason.

You can also paste the item text. The Helper then tells you which outcome fits.

What the Helper keeps for you

Function What you see
Tally Spent so far, cost still expected, projected total and the estimate of the plan
Attempt log Attempts made against attempts expected, per step. The log can be exported as CSV
Early stop A message when the item matches the keep list, with the saving
Saved progress Progress goes into a second file beside the plan. You can close the Helper and continue later
Window options The window can stay on top of other windows. A compact view is available
Re-plan Paste the item into the Current state page of the Planner to plan the rest from where you are

The Log page of the Craft Helper compares attempts made with attempts expected for every step

The Log page: attempts made against attempts expected per step, and every reported outcome.

The plan file

The Helper shows what the plan file carries: steps, outcomes, reasons, prices and the keep list. The Helper never writes to the plan file. Your progress is stored in a second file beside it.

The file carries a format version. The Helper refuses a file of an unknown version with a clear message.

What the Helper leaves out

The Helper stays manual. It sends no input to the game, reads no stash, and does not buy, list or sell. See Features.
